#44 comedy, society & culture, arts

the power of silence, old friends chatting, and Tom Hanks

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend... I'm back this week with three recommendations, all suited to different times/moods. I hope you enjoy the recommendations and have a great week ahead!

How Long Gone?

Chris Black and Jason Stewart started this podcast during the pandemic as a way to stay in touch and chat with friends. It has now become hugely popular and is one of my new favourite podcasts. Each episode is a comedy show, in-depth interview and niche scene report rolled into one. They cover all topics, mainly focusing on pop culture, fashion, and music. Thanks Samara for the recommendation!

Twenty Thousand Hertz (Episode: Golden)

This is the sister podcast to one of my all time favourites, 99% Invisible. It is podcast that reveals the stories behind the world's most recognizable and interesting sounds. This episode features two stories (from a politician, and death row inmate) about the transformative power of silence.

Dead Eyes

This is a GREAT series. I must admit it is quite old (started in 2020) and I only recently got hooked on it whilst on holiday. The host, Conor, embarks upon a quest to solve a very stupid mystery that has haunted him for two decades: why Tom Hanks fired him from a small role in the 2001 HBO mini-series, Band Of Brothers. Funny, easy listen, recommended!

Thanks for reading (and hopefully thanks for listening!) ✌🏼 😁😁😁

Thanks for reading the podcast movement this week! I hope you enjoyed all of the recommendations.
