#43 arts, society & culture, music
meet the moomin characters, feed your soul, and hear from a musicial genius
Good morning! Another week, another podcast newsletter π€©. This week, I've picked out some favourites that were recently recommended to me.
The Moomin Phenomenon
Lily Collins (Emily in Paris) and Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous) host this series that explores the world of Moomin. Each episode focuses on a different part of the Moomin world (e.g. the fans, the founder, etc.) and explores how it has become such a vast, worldwide phenomenon. It is really interesting and an easy listen + you'll find yourself exploring the Moomin shop too.
Best Friend Therapy
Recommended to me a while back, now is the perfect time to share it as they've just started Season 4. The podcast is hosted by best friends, Elizabeth Day (How to Fail) and Emma Reed-Turrell (Psychotherapist). They chat about pretty much anything really, with each episode following a theme (Ep 1 was Grief). A comforting listen!
Broken Record (In Conversation with Malcolm Gladwell)
Rick Rubin π, a famous record producer, hosts this podcast, featuring guests talking about their inspiration, craft, and life. This episode specifically turns on spotlight on Rick Rubin - someone who has had a fascinating career and takes a unique approach to creating. He also has a book 'The Creative Act' and miniseries 'McCartney 3,2,1', both recently released. A must listen! (Thanks Jonny!)
Thanks for reading (and hopefully thanks for listening!) βπΌ πππ
As always, you can find the podcasts that have been recommended in the podcast everything sheet, and I'd recommend to filter for the category you're looking for π It is updated every week so have a look.
