The Nearly Weds

Now, I'm not normally a huge fan of these types of podcasts (e.g. chatty comedy) but I found myself listening this week and actually laughing out loud whilst walking. The podcasts features Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo (ex-Made in Chelsea) as they prepare to get married. It is great fun and they bounce of each other really well. You might want to start off at the beginning or around the middle of the episodes first.

Le Monstre

This is a terrifying, gripping, shocking podcast that will leave you picking your jaw up of the floor. If you are a fan of the true crime genre then it is a must-listen! Le Monstre tells the story of Marc Dutroux (a kidnapper), his crimes, and their aftermath, known as the Dutroux Affair. It attempts to address unanswered questions, and to hopefully bring closure to one of the darkest chapters in Belgium’s history.

Short History of... (S1 E23: Ernest Shackleton)

I wanted to recommend this specific episode as the story is unbelievable (thanks Max for the recommendation). Antarctica, October 1915. 1200 miles from civilisation, Ernest Shackleton watches from the ice as his ship finally crumples. Now he must make it home. An excellent podcast, with a lot of really great episodes!

Serial (Episode 13: Adnan is Out)

Adnan Syed was 18 when he was sentenced to life in prison for the death of his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, whose body was found buried in the woods in 1999. Serial Season 1 focuses on this case and exploring the details, intricacies, and future of it. Now... after almost 23 years (!!!) behind bars his conviction has been overturned. Ofcourse Serial had to release a brand new episode on this!
