just the gist, solving the world's pressing problems, and the best book summaries!

Just the Gist

A great podcast (recently discovered) that provides you with just enough information/stories so you can know what you need to know - great for a dinner party. The podcast covers all types of topics from Colonel Tom Parker to the College Admissions Scandal, to a kick-ass 17th century French woman. It is fun, entertaining, and gives you 'just the gist' πŸ˜‰.

80,000 Hours

If you want very in-depth an intellectual podcast episodes then this a a great podcast! The episodes are usually long interviews (e.g. 3hrs) focusing on the most pressing problems in the world and what we can do to solve them. For example episode #133 with Max Tegmark focuses on AI, the ethics of AI and how we can use it to resolve key issues.

Overdue

A different recommendation this week - about Books! More specifically, book summaries. This poscast has been going on for years (over 500 episodes!) which means there are so many books summarised/reviewed to choose from. Overdue is about the books you've been meaning to read. The hosts are funny and playful - covering all different types of books.

+ what to listen to this morning? As it is a Monday morning, I always start with the FT News Briefing (best for the morning news) and also just started listening to Money (with David Buik and Michael Wilson), an in-depth look and the world of business.

Thanks for reading (and hopefully thanks for listening!) Coming next, it will be a 'morning briefing' focused newsletter, so if you have any go-to morning podcasts - recommend! ✌🏼

As always, you can find the podcasts that have been recommended in the podcast everything sheet, and I'd recommend to filter for the category you're looking for 😎
